Features
--------
- Can be used from a batch file to automagically add files recieved through
a file distribution network. Run FIXFILES immediately AFTER Tick.
- Fast and easy to use.
- Adds FILES.BBS entries to *.DIR files for all non CD-ROM T.A.G. areas.
- Checks *.DIR file and won't add a dupe.
- Written for TAG 2.6d and uses proper variables for validation flags.
(yes this was undocumented and new in 2.6d, I found it strictly by
accident while working on another project of mine)
- Configurable Uploader name.
- Won't add a Files.BBS entry that isn't in the file directory.
- Deletes FILES.BBS files when finished with them.
- Will create a NEW *.DIR file if one isn't found in the file directory.
How to use FIXFILES
-------------------
There are 3 different ways to use FIXFILES.
1. Put FIXFILES in the same directory as FBOARDS.DAT and type FIXFILES.
All File areas that are NOT CD ROM Discs will be searched for a
FILES.BBS.
If a FILES.BBS is found then any files NOT ALREADY in your *.DIR file
that are in the directory will be added to the end of the *.DIR file
located in that download directory.
Once the files are added the FILES.BBS is deleted.
The name "The Sysop" is used for the uploader.
Today's date is used as the upload date.
This is repeated for ALL NON-CDROM areas.
Example: Fixfiles
2. Put FIXFILES in any directory and type the following:
FIXFILES <path to FBOARDS.DAT>
All File areas that are NOT CD ROM Discs will be searched for a
FILES.BBS.
If a FILES.BBS is found then any files NOT ALREADY in your *.DIR file
that are in the directory will be added to the end of the *.DIR file
located in that download directory.
Once the files are added the FILES.BBS is deleted.
The name "The Sysop" is used for the uploader.
Today's date is used as the upload date.
This is repeated for ALL NON-CDROM areas.
Example: Fixfiles C:\TAG\GFILES
3. Put FIXFILES in any directory you desire and type the following:
FIXFILES <path to FBOARDS.DAT> <Sysop's First Name> <Sysop's Last Name>
All File areas that are NOT CD ROM Discs will be searched for a
FILES.BBS.
If a FILES.BBS is found then any files NOT ALREADY in your *.DIR file
that are in the directory will be added to the end of the *.DIR file
located in that download directory.
Once the files are added the FILES.BBS is deleted.
The first name and last names from the commandline will be used for
the uploader.
Today's date is used as the upload date.
This is repeated for ALL NON-CDROM areas.
Example: Fixfiles C:\TAG\GFILES Mark McKay
